caitscuts a.k.a beatmistresscait: "spent almost 50 years deejaying..got to the point i'd look out at the room and realise most of the heads could be one of my kids..developed some seriously nasty habits too..go too fast for too long etcetera..got my start in 1970 (philly)..was working in nyc for rca by '77..analog 24 track board...cut and splice era on the safety machine..frigging ancient old school by today's standard..and the clubs in the states were massive..even on a monday we'd get 1200 or so through the doors..hard thing to walk away from..the buzz..the booze the drugs..and gettin lucky after the gigs..got into billboard, record world and several other publications in the mid to late 70's..competition was crazy..back in the day with 'white label' stuff..labels removed so no one could cop your music, crate diggin' all that shite...ended up in jail for a bit..decided to chill..but like a moth to a flame went back at it due to some encouragement from mates...but for all that..making my own music was always behind it..then i discovered the magic of digital and daw's..latched onto ableton..now i'm an addict again..comes full circle ya know?" - cait collins*

I had connected with beatmistresscait (former club deejay/record promoter/recording engineer - Limerick Beat Factory) in 2020 while COVID-19 was in full effect, after Lady Lash & I had separated (finding a mistress after splitting up, iconic huh). It was music at first listen. Introducing myself & didn't hesitate asking cait if I could remix something she had created. With her very next response, she had tolerated my stupid bastard banter and agreed to a collaboration and a UNITY between us was born. The first beat we did together was the albums opening instrumental 'sunset and a cold sweat' and to make sure I made a solid impression, did some cuts on the song using a Nas acapella spitting - "..and wipe the sweat off dome, spit the flem on the street, Nikee's on my feet, keep my cypher complete". cait was pleased enough with my first flip and how our music meshed. The next beat she sent me was 'back to the real deal (baby)' which has a serious story behind it and that made things alot more sentimental to have an her concepts to vibe off. Over 3 years we became really close mates sharing our music & life stories. cait rides a dark beastly (customized) mint motorcycle & has some very hair raising stories to yarn. Then.. one day just before Saint Patrick's Day 2023.. well.. maybe saying "goodbye" to every one of her supporters wasn't something she had the heart for after so many magical decades in music. I found this quote of caits* a couple weeks later - "when you know someone with schizophrenia, you are never alone". So I guess it was destiny
